Post Christmas

I hope you guys had a great Christmas! My parents were in town Christmas Eve until yesterday so I had a very good one! I only wish my sister could have come too!! So, in the spirit of Christmas and the new year, I decided to wear my fair isle sweater! It's so festive and looks like winter, if that makes sense. I also had to add in these shoes for the pop of red to keep with the Christmas look, of course. And all 40% off from Old Navy. The sweater isn't online anymore but you can check in store.

Hope y'all have a great new year! It's still crazy to me how fast 2014 flew by.

Plaid Moment

Anyone else been obsessed with plaid lately? I definitely have, especially when Old Navy has anything plaid that my closet could ever need. I would tell you how many plaid tops alone I have, but that's not necessary.

I cannot believe Christmas is in two weeks!! Very excited about this one because we will be able to be around most of our family this year! Kind of rare since we moved to Georgia over four years ago, so I really can't wait!

This entire outfit is from Old Navy, along with most of my wardrobe. Oops! I saw these pants and fell in love immediately. I love these because I feel like I could really mix and match a lot of my tops and shoes with them. And they're just fun!

Oh, and if you need a hairstylist, I recommend going to see Cayla Roberts. I absolutely love my hair every time she styles it. It's so nice to 100% trust your hair stylist!

And from last night...enjoying our time by the fire.

Blanket Scarf

It's cold outside! Yay!!! That can only mean one thing: huge scarves! For example, this blanket scarf is the softest scarf that I own. I do love that it can literally be a blanket if I needed it to be.

If you haven't heard about Jane.com, you have now. It's where I got this lovely scarf! They post deals everyday and you have a certain amount of time to buy certain items before they are sold out or the time is up on the deal! They also have an app you can download on your phone but that can be very dangerous because it's even easier to shop. Trust me. :)

Not a lot of pictures...it was rainy and gross that day!

Fall Fur

October has had many ups and downs. My husband and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! Can't believe it has already been two years! We also lost my grandpa and my father-in-law. Two great men who had such a positive impact on my life are no longer here. My heart hurts everyday but I know I will see them again. These verses stuck out to me during this time and I wanted to share.

Psalms 116: 5-9

5. The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

6. The Lord protects the unwary;
when I was brought low, He saved me.

7. Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.

8, For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

9. That I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

Now on to this outfit.  I have been looking for a fur vest for a while now.  When I was in Mississippi, I went into a Target, and there it was!  It goes great with my lifestyle and wardrobe!  But let's be honest, when do I go into a Target and not buy anything? Never.  Guess I have a problem?

Today was the perfect day to debut the fur vest.  It was actually cool outside and felt like fall!  I'm so ready for it to not be in the 80's so I can wear this vest more often, along with gigantic scarves and sweaters and boots and the list goes on!

Have a great week!!

Chambray + Leopard

My sweet, patient husband took these pictures for this post. He had to deal with me saying a few times, "I don't like that...my eyebrows look weird, take that picture again" or you know, something similar to that. But we got through it! Ha.

You guys, Old Navy is having such a great sale right now! Take advantage of it this weekend. They have some great transitional fall pieces on sale. This whole outfit is from Old Navy, except for the purse and necklace. This skirt? Six dollars!

I was on the hunt a few months ago for a chambray button down because it goes with so much! Tuck it in with skirts, wear it with your denim, dress it up or down...the list goes on. The price was right on this one and I wanted a lighter color because I felt like it would go would more of my wardrobe. And these leopard heels, well, I couldn't really say no to. Leopard is such a fun neutral for fall! Add it to any outfit for a nice pop. That's right, leopard is a neutral and It will forever stay that way for me. Gives the outfit a little more personality. ;)

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Blazers

Tomorrow is the first day of fall! My favorite season!! The weather is usually amazing, trees turn pretty colors, and I got married during the fall! What's not to love?!

I bought this blazer at LOFT during the summer for a steal! It fits better than any blazer I have ever purchased. The cut is perfect for me! It's a white blazer so I'm breaking the "rule" of wearing white after Labor Day. You know what I found out though? Throwing out all of these fashion faux pas makes life so much easier. It gives a woman's wardrobe more options and may not feel as trapped. At least to me it helps!

Enjoy this beautiful weather we should have soon!!

Graphic Tees

Wow.  It's been about 3 weeks since my last blog.  Hopefully I never go that long without doing one again.  My bad!  So let's talk about how awesome this graphic tee  from Old Navy is and only 6 dollars now!!  Yes, please!!  I tried going back to get more of these tees, but unfortunately, the Old Navy stores around here were all out.  I know that I can wear it with jeans or dress it up with a skirt.  Versatility is always key for my wardrobe!  I wanted to pair it with something fun, so these camo jeans were a must, especially since fall is right around the corner.  Although, when we were taking these pictures, it did not feel like fall AT ALL.  Thank you again, Ashleigh Owens for taking these in the scorching heat!  I think it was about 100 degrees today, so fall needed be here like 2 weeks ago. I can't wait for fall to get here to break out scarves, jackets, and layering!  Right now, it's still too hot to do "light" layers.  Until then, I'm keeping things simple.  :)

Floral for Days

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved floral.  Well, some things never change.  And I'm glad they haven't since floral patterns are such a big hit right now!  I swear it's the 90's all over again, which means mixing patterns like floral and stripes, for example, are very popular and one of my favorite patterns to wear together.  I'm not mixing patterns in this post, but I am wearing my favorite go to look for summer.  Cute, casual dress with my denim vest, hat, and booties.  Can't go wrong with this look!  I'm so glad I purchased this denim vest.  I wear it with probably all of my summer dresses.  This is a great dress to pair with flats, heels, wedges, or sandals.  I love versatility in my wardrobe and this definitely is versatile. Oh, and I really did not know that on the Old Navy website, they put this dress and denim vest together that I'm wearing for this blog.  I bought these at separate times.  So funny!  Hope you all are having a great week!

Summer Time

The weather these past couple of days has been amazing!  It feels like it's spring again and I don't want it to change!  That means I'm outside way more because it's not 100% humidity and 100 degrees outside.  So with the weather being as beautiful as it is, it was time to go outside and take pictures! Yay!!  I chose this romper because the color and pattern goes perfectly with summer.  This is my second romper I have purchased for the spring and summer.  I guess I gravitate towards them more because it's an outfit right away.  So easy to put together!  LOFT  has the best blazers for year round wear.  The one I have with this outfit is linen and white, so yeah, I'll be wearing it year round because it goes with everything.  I apologize in advance if you happen to see it with everything I wear in the near future.

Rainy Days

It seriously looked like it was about to rain so hard when we were taking these pictures.  On top of it looking like it was about to rain, it took a while to get some decent pictures since I'm super awkward and cracking up at myself the entire time.  My awkwardness is probably something that will never change, and I'm okay with that.

This outfit, except for the shoes, is from Cotton On.  The most comfortable clothes you will wear.  I could literally sleep in the pants and the top.  I first fell in love when I ordered a couple of things from their website, hoping they would fit.  They were perfect.  So, this kind of started an obsession.  I mean, who doesn't like to wear soft, comfortable clothes all the time?  Since we don't actually have a Cotton On store in the Atlanta area, I went to one when we were at Mall of America.  I told you that place was heaven.  I got this outfit while we were there and fell in love with the top so much, I got another one.  In a leopard print, of course.  You will probably see it very soon on here.  So, if you are looking for some pieces that can be worn to sleep in and wear out in public, Cotton On is the answer.  You're welcome.  ;)
PS: The pants are supposed to be 3/4 but on me they're normal length pants.  Petite girl problems.

The Comeback

One thing I never thought I would see again, yet alone have in my closet, are these overalls.  I remember the first time I saw them a while back on Pinterest and was so shocked by how absolutely adorable they were.  So, I knew it was a matter of time before I had to have them.  I found these when I was in Minneapolis visiting my sister.  We went to The Mall of America (heaven) and overalls were seriously on a list I made of things I needed while I was there.  I went into an Old Navy store at the mall, and they were just hanging there, only 3 sizes left,  calling my name!  By the way, I can always find something at Old Navy.  Always reasonably priced and up to date with the current trends! These I really loved in particular because of the length...either roll them up or down.  Wear any top with them, some cute flats, sandals, sneakers or wedges, and you are good to go!  Now for some pictures of this outfit shot by the lovely Ashleigh Owens!

First Post!

Hey guys!
So, never thought I would be a blogger, but here it is!  As some of you may know, I have recently decided to start my own business in the world we call fashion.  That word, though, can seem too extreme sometimes.  I like to think of fashion as clothes that we think are pretty, fit right(or how we want them to fit), and is trendy at the time.  One of my favorite quotes is from Coco Chanel; "Fashion fades, only style remains the same."  Finding your style and what you are comfortable in as a woman is probably one of the most important rules when it comes to "fashion".  It doesn't have to be glitter and jewels(I mean, I love all of those things sometimes...or all the time). It can be how you view yourself.  Like when you put something cute on, you can look at yourself and think, "I look great today!".  To me, that's fashion, and ultimately, that's YOUR style.  I think we, as women, can put too much pressure on ourselves when it comes to what we wear. There have been SO many times I walk into my closet and think, "I have nothing to wear". Then I think how ridiculous that sounds because I am very blessed to have what I have. So when I think those things, I do this: mix patterns, colors, textures...and I just have fun with it!  :)

Another part of this blog will be outfit posts.  You can also find these same posts on my Instagram.  If you're not already following me on instagram, you can follow me: @rachelleestyle.  I would greatly appreciate it. :)  Thank you for reading this and for following me on this journey.  I've had so much love and support during this time from so many of you.  Love you all!
